How do I change my Company Name?

It is really straight forward to change the name of a UK Company. You are able to change a company name electronically or by paper.
Once you select to order the change of company name service, you will be asked to provide details on the new company name and provide the Authentication Code. If you don’t have the Authentication Code, we can still apply to change your company name by paper please select this service from our Additional Services.

What do I need to change my company name?

We can apply to change a company name electronically, to allow us to change your name electronically we will require the following information:

• Company Name
• Company Number
• Authentication Code
• New Company Name

If you do not have access to your company Authentication Code, we can assist with obtaining the code or we can proceed to change the company name by paper.

How long does it take to change my company name?

If we apply for the company name to be changed electronically, we have 2 services which you are able to choose from. Please see available services below:

• Standard Service – 1-2 Days
• Same Day Service – 24 hours

What will I receive once my company name has been changed?

Once your company name has been changed and accepted by Companies House, you will receive a Certificate of Change of Name. This is an official certificate that confirms the following:

• Previous Company Name
• New Company Name
• Company Number
• Date the Company Name was changed

The certificate will be sent to you by email.
